Dear Folks:
The precinct meeting was a resounding success. 80 people and a very moving meeting. People spoke (we had a discussion of community problems) some really fiery speeches - constantly interrupted by applause. All in all very good.
We got a memo from Jackson - the Freedom D.P. is having trouble so priority is given it the rest of the summer. We are out working in Coahoma County now (one day so far - very good response in Friars Point - a town of 1,000). We intend to carry out a Freedom Day (voter registration) also most of the work done by spare time Freedom School teachers and local people as well as us. Makes for a very busy August.
Freedom,
Mat
P.S. Not that I have to say it, but be sure to talk with Doc Henry when he gets to New York.
