Dear Folks:
I've been working like crazy on the Freedom Dem Party - (the more I work the more I believe it's extremely worthwhile). We've got 1150 people Freedom registered which is pretty good. We've set up precinct meetings for tomorrow. They really might be successes. There is really a great deal happening - but it's hard to write about it. I imagine we'll have a good week of talking when I get back - just to give you an idea of what it's like here.
All is still safe and sound. We have changed homes (Mrs. P-'s daughter wanted her bedroom back). Our new house has no phone (and no refrigerator or stove or light in the bathroom - we'll be eating in cafes - we have a deal about eating breakfasts in the home of another volunteer). I feel very excited - seeing results is good for the morale. This letter will be in lieu of the Tuesday letter - tomorrow is the precinct meeting and I'll be like a chicken-minus-head. I got the money order. It looks like we won't be going to New Orleans after all. As soon as the Freedom D.P. county meeting is over (July 28) we will start pushing for a huge massive Freedom Day (probably on Aug. 10 - in fact a Freedom week Aug. 10-14). All very exciting.
Love and Freedom
