November the 11 1863 Camp near Petersburg, VA My Dear Mary, I am well tonight. We have marched from the cars out to our camp that we left a few days ago. I do not nowe what time we will leave here. They say we are ordered to Richmond. Excuse bad writing be I am writing by the firelight & the paper on my knee at that. You kow it is bad write. The Yankees all left down yander. I did not see them. Lee is at work on them in Northern Virginia at this time. So good bye close. You G.W. Belcher
