First, he is shown bending forward at the waist, hands near his feet holding a sign that reads, "Peace offers to Hanoi." In the second, he is bending over backward. In the third, he is bending to one side. In the last, he is shown from the waist up. Across the four parts of the cartoon, he says, "I've bent over forward...and backward...and sideward...so far the only thing I've accomplished is to keep down my waistline!" The cartoon caption reads, Slim pickins.
