Title	Road map; [1968-1979]
Description	From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Eldon Pletcher. A man dressed in a Colonial general's uniform is driving a car labeled, "Long-standing La. tidelands dispute." Luggage labeled "37 1/2% movement" is on the car's trunk. The general is holding a large map of the Gulf of Mexico and the states that border it. Offshore from the states is a line marking the distance in miles allocated to each state. Texas and Florida's allowance is 10.3 miles, but only three miles for Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. The map is labeled, "Obvious disparity between La., Miss., and Ala. allowance as against Texas and Florida treatment." The man is driving toward Washington, D.C., with the Capitol dome and Washington monument on the horizon. Two signs along the road read, "La. congressional efforts toward settlement" and "Gov.'s Washington office." [Manuscript note in bottom margin: "Saturday, Jan. 27." During 1968, 1973, and 1979, January 27 was on Saturday.]
