Description	From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Eldon Pletcher. The backdrop is a graph with gridlines and two bars rising from the X axis labeled "Debt ceiling" and "New debt ceiling needs." The second bar is much taller than the first. Uncle Sam, labeled "Uncle $am to the whole world" is in shabby clothing and is suspended between the two bars. One foot is on the top of each bar, and he appears to be doing the splits. Shadows show where his legs should be under him. He is saying, "Unless Congress acts by June 30th, I won't be able to pay my own bills!" The cartoon caption reads, "Talk about awkward positions." [Note on the date: Manuscript entry in bottom margin reads, Monday, June 12. During 1967, 1972, and 1978, June 12 was on Monday.]
