Description	From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Eldon Pletcher. A man labeled “LA. lottery” is wearing old-fashioned clothing and a bowler hat, and he has a handle-bar moustache. He is standing beside a raffle/lottery wire cylinder basket with “State Senate" below it on the floor. The top of the basket is open, and the man has reached into it (to draw out a winning entry?). But the man's arm goes all the way through the wire without finding any entries. [Note: Archaic dress, bowler hat, and moustache style may refer to the 1868-1893 Louisiana lottery. The current Louisiana lottery began in 1991, later than artist Pletcher created cartoons for The Times-Picayune).
