Historical Manuscripts and Photographs 
The Historical Manuscripts & Photographs Digital Collection contains a selection of items from manuscript collections in McCain Library & Archives. Items document the history of the South, with particular emphasis on Mississippi.
The collection includes civil rights documents from USM manuscript collections digitized as part of a National Leadership Grant awarded in 2001 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the Civil Rights in Mississippi Digital Archive, as well as items digitized as part of National Leadership Grant awarded in 2003 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the Mississippi Digital Library.
