Description	From the Paul B. Johnson Family Papers. Erle Johnston, Jr., director of the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission, writes to Governor Paul B. Johnson, Lieutenant Governor Carroll Gartin, and E.K. Collins on 10 March 1964, concerning the alleged communist leanings of the president, Dr. A.D. Beittel. Johnston states the opinion that Tougaloo College should have their accreditation revoked because class time is being used for civil rights activities and communists and communist activities flourish at the university.
