Natchez, Miss., Dec. 11 - 1864
In accordance with General Orders No. 1, dated "Headquarters,
Drew's Farm", (this day received) the undersigned has the honor to transmit the following communication and report. Said communication not to contain anything contraband, but simply the
statements, comments, opinions, descriptions, adventures, expectations, conjectures, hopes, fears, and regards of the subscriber.
The Post Office Department will furnish free transportation for this document to the headquarters 13th N.H. Regiment, or
wherelse it may be necessary for it to go, upon prepayment by stamp in the small sum of three cents - said stamp to be extracted from
the public fund.
