Description	A letter, dated 7 April 1850, from Mississippi Congressman Winfield Scott Featherston to an unidentified person on the subject of the appointment of a cadet. The addressee had recommended Mr. Brownrigg as had Isham Harrison, but Featherston had appointed a more strongly recommended candidate, Mr. Davis. The letter also contains Featherston's views on slavery.
