Transcript	Carline County, VA May the 21.64 My Dear Caroline, I seat myself this morning to write you a few lines to let you know where I am this morning. We are going to Lee's army. We are in Caroline County this morning. I left the soldiers home yesterday morning & got to my Company in a few minnets as they ware passing threw Richmond. Caroline, my brother Henry was killed the tenth of May. Mr. Fowler was killed. Henry, Payton Philpott, Ike Naff. Caroline, I send you one of Henry's letters. You must send it to Pufs. I got you letters that of the first & sixt & was glad to here from Wash & to here that he was so well sattisfied.
