I seat myself this eavening to write you a few lines to let you here form me once more. I am not verry well today but I cant help myself. We pore men has to do our part of the duty, sick as well that is understood. If I was rich, they would excuse me, that is the way this cruel ware is carried on. That you know as well as myself. I have no news of mutch importance to write today. We ar between Burnside & Richmond. The todays papers states that the Yankees came verry near getting Petersburg yesterday. They got to the reservoy (reservoir). They had a sharp fight. They had the citixens out. Sever of them got killed but had as well be killed. One they better prepared to dy than I am.
