Transcript	April the 24 1864 Camp White Oak Swamp My Dear Caroline, I seat myself this evening to inform you that I have seen Mr. Fowler. He gave me the letter that you sent to me by him. He was verry sorry that he forgot to bring my pistol to me. You tuck the trouble of carry it to him then he forgot it. I it makes no differance, I can get it some other time if I want it. You can get it & keep it til I come after it. I could sell it if I had it here. I could get a fine price for it. You must get it sometime soon. You can keep it greesed & then it will not rust. Caroline I have know news to write worth relating. The Jeneral Picket has bin fighting some in North Carolina. The newspapers is full quar
