My Dear Mary,
I recieved you kind letter of the thirtieth of October & was glad to here from you. I am well as to health but I have a verry sore foot. My ancle has bin sore ever since sometime before you was down here. My health is verry good with that exception. Yesterday when you letter come I was in the act of starting to the cars with Jackson Thomas. He started home yesterday on fifteen days furlough. I sent you some powder John & Thomas Dickinson. They can divide the powder if you want them to have it. The lead they can divide also. One half pound of powder, one of lead is what sent. The powder in in two papers but bothe papers is roped up in a little rag.
