Hanover County June 6, 63
My Dear Mary,
I take the present opportunity of writing you a few lines to inform you I am well at this time but very mutch worn out with hard marching. I have bin on the march for the last four days. We marched all day yesterday & then last night at midnight the long roll was beat again to fall in to march twenty five miles. I have a verry strong notion of trying to get a transfer to James Dickerson's cavaldry company. If I do so I will have to find my own horce. If you have not sold ader yet hold to her until you here from me. I shel write Capt. Dickerson as soon as I can get the chance to do so. Mr. John robinson has got two hundred dollers for you and a half pound of powder
