I take the pleasure in answering you kind letter of the 23 of April. I was verry glad to here from you. I am in Suffolk. I left my Regment yesterday. I am verry mutch effected with rhumatism, yet I have bin effected with that deseas for the last three months. You may be satisfied that I will not try to stay with my Company when I am not able to carry my napsack. I reckon you will be surprised when you see you brother Wash come home.
