Dear Car, I take the pleasure in writing you a few lines to let you know that I am well. Hoping when those few lines comes to hand, you may be enjoying the same. I can, if necessary, send a surtificate to show that I never have bin snakebitten. You need not be the least uneasy about snake bites because you have not got any snakebites about you. The one that started lyen me will repent it after death if not before. If any white man started it, he had better valenteer before I get home and if a negro started it, his master had better sell if I come home in good health. I will come
