My Dear Mary, I take my pleasure in writing you a few lines to inform you that I am well at preasant except some slight attacts of reumatism. Every cloudy and rainy spell of weather we have here my bones aches more & more. We will leave here soon, purhaps before tomarrow morning. We had orders this morning to cook up all the provisions we had on hand. We herd that the Yankeys were coming up Chowan River. I have my doubts whether they come here attall or not.
