Dear Mary, I received your kind letter of the twenty-sixth of March. I was glad to here from you. I would like to come home & settle with Martin before the Yankeys gets to chance to kill me. He must tell his authority concerning that snakebite cause that bothers me more than anything else in the world. I have got to nowe where it started from. I have know idea that you started that tail. I thought at first Mary began, did tell Nancy that they was something the matter with you and then they thought I had got snake bitten & brought it home & left it there but I thought two mutch of you.
