I recieved you kind letters of the 4 & 7. TJ Morrison brought them the day you brother Washington left here. I was verry glad to here from you. I have but little news to write. I herd yesterday the sutherners had burnt Newborn and left it. That is verry beautiful place. I have my doubts whether that is so or not. I am in hopse that it is not. So tell Wash that myself, WA Lester, the two minters, JL and several others, in fact more than half the Company, wants him to come back before they have to gowe into a fight. They have confidence in Hicks.
