Dear Aunt,
I recived your letter of the 9th of this month & was glad to hear from you all. Once more we have hard times heare. We had another hard fite on the 25. I think it was the hardest we have had this year. We drove them from Ream Station on the Petersburg & Weldon Road. We charged their bressworks. We loss three of the best soldiers in our Co. killed and two wounded Pannill was hit in the head with a minnie ball & Tom Bennett & was killed by one of our own shells. Their rite arm was shot off & their boddies tore in to. It is hard to think they fought so well then was killed by our own shell.
