Dear Dad,
Just arrived at the office and received your letter. How can you even listen to - with any acceptance - that garbage that Ross Barnett and Wallace and Johnson put out about us? If I am a beatnik, then the Miss. Project workers are. Every person in this group is here in very much the same way that I am. You met these kids [1]. You can KNOW that these people [Barnett, Wallace, and Johnson] aren't telling the truth - about this - about the conditions in their states. People who can and do know about these things MUST take a stand. There is no compromise with the truth, and these men (and others) are simply not telling the truth. Please don't waste time with thinking that they should be followed and accepted in place of men like James Forman and Robert Moses.
