Subcommittee
of the
Democratic
National
Committee
explains
what
SNCC
is
and
details
the
exclusion
of the
African
Americans
from
participation
in
political
parties
in
Mississippi
.
Lewis
makes
the
case
that the
Mississippi
Freedom
Democratic
Party
(MFDP)
should be
allowed
to
conduct
the
regular
elections
for the
state
,
because
it
is
the
only
party
in
Mississippi
that
does
not
discriminate
against
people
based
on their
race
. In his
address
, he also
notes
that the
National
Democratic
Party
should
disallow
the
use
of their
name
by those
politicians
who
support
segregation
and
unfair
election
procedures
.
