Camp wagon train, sixteen miles from Macon, Georgia
February 28th, 1865
My Dear Sallie,
With great difficulty we reached Macon, Georgia on last Saturday. Fortunately, the wagon train of our army had just arrived. We stayed in Macon Sunday. We went to church Sunday evening. I called on Mother Ross. They were very glad to see me. I couldn't get Tom to go up, I wanted him to see Miss Ellen, but he complained of being unwell. I got horses for the boys.
