Dear Sallie,
We are still at this place "mud-bound." The weather has been very bad ever since we [illegible] here, raining almost [illegible] after a long [illegible] off, and we received orders [illegible] but we had only one fair day when the rain set in again and the order was revoked.
Yesterday we received orders to move this morning but the incessant [illegible] and last night [illegible] this morning the worst [illegible] gale I ever saw is blowing [illegible] the south and has been for the last twelve hours with dark lowering scowls chasing in each other in rapid succession.
