Jackson, May 31st 1861
My Dear Sallie,
We arrived in Brandon on yesterday at ten o'clock and were escorted by the Rankin Greys 'to the Old Depot in Brandon, where we had one of the finest dinners I most ever saw. Everybody seemed glad to see us and were very kind to us. Your Pa says he is going to join my company and will go to Corinth next week.
My boys all leave today for Corinth and are all in fine spirits. I send you a breast pin with my Ambrotype in it.
