Dear Miss Sallie-
I rec’d your last letter on the eve of my departure for this place, and catch this hasty moment to acknowledge the receipt of it. I am heartily tired of courts and hope that I will get through here tomorrow.
I have a great deal to write you but must defer it for the present. Tonight two weeks hence if nothing happens I will be in Brandon. I wish I were there now. Mr. Evans and Sister will be over and some others with me.
Give my love to the family and tell Mr. M. Smith that I am anxious to see him. I shall expect him to come home with us. I don’t know whether
