Biography
Ms. Frances Burney was born May 29, 1913, in Vancleave, Mississippi. When she was eighteen, she married and moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. Until 1951, she stayed home rearing her four children; at that time, her husband became ill, and she took a job outside her home at the age of thirty- eight in order to support her family.
When she began her married life in Biloxi, the streets were paved with oyster shells. Ms. Burney has lived continuously in Biloxi, witnessing many changes throughout the years.
