Biography
Pete Johnson was born on May 12, 1948, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and received his B. S. degree in business administration at the University of Mississippi. He completed his study of law at the Jackson School of Law and also graduated from Louisiana State University's School of Banking of the South. His career as a financial analyst began in Jackson, Mississippi at Trustmark National Bank. In 1982 he formed his own financial planning firm. In 1987 he was elected state auditor and served in that position from 1988 to 1992. He ran unsuccessfully for the office of governor in 1991.
Mr. Johnson is active in numerous civic and professional organizations. He has served as chairman of the Mississippi Marketing Council, chairman of the Coahoma County Industrial Foundation, president of the Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce, and director of the Delta Council Community and Industrial Development Board. He is a member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, the Mississippi Bar Association, and the Coahoma County Bar Association. He has been profiled in Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
Mr. Johnson is married to the former Margaret Birdsong of Clarksdale, Mississippi, and they have two daughters. He currently resides in Madison.

Pete Johnson was born on May 12, 1948 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He received his B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi.
