Biography
The oldest of twelve children, Ms. Clearese Cook grew up in the Irene Chapel Community of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Her parents were Beatrice Scott Ellis and Jordan Ellis. She attended DePriest Consolidated School in the Palmer's Crossing Community of Hattiesburg. She was graduated from high school in 1941, and attended Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She survived the years of the Great Depression and World War II. She married and reared five children-- one daughter and four sons.
